Papoy! Minions dalam Despicable Me yang Lucu
Sejak muncul di film Despicable Me yang pertama, minions yang merupakan anak buah tokoh utama Gru, menuai lebih banyak fans dibanding tokoh utamanya. Hal ini dikarenakan karakternya yang unik dan lucu. Tingkah laku mereka seringkali mengundang tawa.
Bentuk minions hanya seperti kapsul berwarna kuning yang diberi kaki dan tangan. Mereka pun memiliki mata yang tidak sama, ada yang satu dan ada yang dua. Ciri khas mereka adalah selalu berbaju biru dan memakai kacamata yang modelnya sama namun unik.
Bahasa minions itu tidak jelas
Bahasa yang digunakan oleh para minion itu tidak jelas. Menurut sang sutradara yang sekaligus pengisi suara minion, Pierre Coffin, bahasa minions merupakan campuran dari banyak bahasa dan nama makanan. Bahkan pada Despicable Me 2, ada kalimat “Terima Kasih” yang diucapkan oleh salah satu minions.

Masih menurut Coffin, bahasa minions tidak dipahami melalui kata-katanya, namun dari artikulasi dan gerak tubuh minion tersebut. Lebih mirip seperti berbicara dengan orang orang yang tuna rungu atau tuna wicara.
Papoy itu artinya mainan (a toy)
Kata papoy pertama kali muncul pada Despicable Me pertama, saat itu Gru menyuruh tiga minion untuk membeli mainan unicorn. Saat itulah keluar kata papoy. Lihat cuplikan ini:

Minions pada dasarnya adalah baik, sesuatu yang lucu dan menggemaskan. Meskipun minion bekerja untuk orang jahat (Gru) namun sebenarya mereka tidak jahat sama sekali.
