Bagaimana Menjadi orang yang Komunikatif
Beberapa hari yang lalu, saya mendapatkan email dari salah satu pembaca Hanya Lewat. Bagaimana menjadi orang yang komunikatif dan tidak mudah grogi di hadapan orang lain, itu inti dari permasalahannya.
Saling melihat dalam ketertarikan, untuk memulai percakapan.
Saya pun berjanji untuk memberikan saran dalam bentuk artikel, jadilah artikel ini membahas tentang masalah komunikasi dengan sesama. Menurut saya, pola pikir itu menentukan segala tindakan kita secara fisik. Supaya kita bisa menjadi orang yang komunikatif dan tidak mudah minder di hadapan orang lain, kita harus mengembangkan pola pikir setara. Mungkin bisa dimulai dengan hal berikut.
Mengenali dengan siapa kita berbicara
Biasakan untuk mengenali dahulu siapa yang kita ajak bicara. Mulai dari usia, gender, sikap dan sifat. Lalu berlanjut pada penilaian terhadap tingkat pendidikan, wawasan dan topik yang disukai. Hal ini dapat kita lakukan jika kita sedikit menahan diri untuk berbicara lebih sedikit. Jangan terlalu banyak bicara jika kita tidak tahu siapa lawan bicara kita.
Apa kegunaan kita mengenali lawan bicara? Tentu saja untuk menentukan apa yang kita bicarakan dengannya. Pembicaraan itu akan menjadi baik jika terjadi dua arah. Akan menyedihkan jika kita mengajak bicara orang, namun orang itu tidak mengerti apa yang kita bicarakan. Lebih buruk lagi jika ternyata kita tidak paham apa yang dibicarakan orang itu kepada kita.
Hilangkan pemikiran inferior
Hilangkan pemikiran inferior yang membuat kita gampang minder di hadapan orang lain. Pemikiran tersebut antara lain seperti merasa lebih bodoh, merasa lebih miskin atau merasa kurang dari orang lainnya. Perbedaan tingkat pendidikan juga kadang dijadikan alasan untuk merasa inferior, misalnya anak-anak yang lulusan SMA merasa kurang pintar dibanding mereka yang kuliah.
Sesungguhnya perasaan seperti ini hanya akan menghambat kita untuk berkembang. Ini mengganggu pemikiran kita untuk fokus berbicara dengan orang. Orang yang tidak fokus tentu saja akan mengalami kesulitan dalam bergaul. Hal inilah yang mengakibatkan kita tidak lancar berbicara atau bahkan tidak tahu apa yang harus diucapkan. Maka dari itu supaya lancar berbicara dalam pergaulan dimanapun, hilangkan perasaan inferior.
Terus memperbanyak wawasan
Wawasan sangat penting dalam pergaulan. Wawasan yang terus berkembang akan membuat pembicaraan kita dengan orang lain menjadi lebih bervariasi. Lawan bicara anda akan bosan dengan percakapan yang itu-itu saja. Apalagi jika orangnya sama di waktu yang berbeda. Meskipun sebenarnya kita bukan orang yang bodoh, namun akan terlihat bodoh jika topik yang kita bicarakan hanya itu-itu saja.
Maka, memperluas wawasan kita amat sangat penting. Apalagi jika wawasan itu adalah wawasan up to date yang sedang tren saat ini. Tetapi suatu ketika kita akan menemui sebuah perdebatan tentang sesuatu hal. Jika itu terjadi, alangkah lebih baik jika kita menurunkan ego untuk mengalah. Memenangkan perdebatan tidaklah merebut hati orang, namun justru menjauhkannya.
