Budaya sensor mandiri? Apa pula itu? Apa sekarang bank Mandiri sudah main sensor? Bukan. Ini ga ada hubungannya dengan bank Mandiri. Budaya sensor mandiri adalah suatu kebiasaan untuk melakukan penyaringan materi apa yang layak kita tonton, kita baca dan/atau kita sebarkan ke khalayak ramai.
Persebaran informasi dewasa ini tidak dapat dibendung oleh lembaga apapun, terutama informasi yang menyebar melalui media sosial. Untuk itu perlu bagi kita lebih bijaksana dalam menerima dan menyebarkan kembali informasi yang kita terima. Untuk yang beragama Islam, kita sudah diajarkan untuk memiliki budaya sensor mandiri. Lihat ini:

Budaya sensor mandiri dalam media sosial
Bisa dibilang, media sosial adalah tempat yang liar. Segala macam informasi beredar di media sosial. Yang benar bercampur yang salah, yang baik bercampur yang buruk, dan sebagainya. Semua informasi yang beredar tampak menyakinkan, ditambah lagi banyak yang melakukan share dan/atau like membuat orang semakin kalap.
Meskipun begitu ada sebuah kewajiban bagi kita untuk melakukan pemeriksaan apakah informasi itu benar adanya atau tidak. Jika kita tidak mengetahuinya dengan pasti, minimal 99%, jangan melakukan apapun. Aku ulangi, jangan lakukan apapun. Cukup baca lalu lewatkan saja. Satu klik tombol like saja di Facebook misalnya, bisa jadi itu sebuah kesalahan.

Dengan menekan tombol Like saja, kita sebenarnya sudah menyebarkan berita tersebut. Kok bisa? Kan cuma like doang, tidak share. Pernah lihat sebuah status yang bukan milik teman kalian tapi tampil di timeline kalian dengan tuulisan “Si fulan X menyukai ini…” di dekat tombol Like? Nah, kamu ikut baca status itu juga, kan? Nah, lho!
Nah, yang dimaksud budaya sensor mandiri itu yang seperti ini. Kita harus bisa menahan diri untuk menyebarkan informasi yang belum diketahui dengan pasti kebenarannya. Bahkan informasi setengah benar pun seharusnya tidak kita sebarkan. Kenapa? Ya tentu saja kita harus melindungi saudara-saudara kita sebangsa dan setanah air dari penyesatan informasi yang tidak jelas.
Informasi yang menyimpang dapat berujung kepada perpecahan dan konflik ditengah-tengah bangsa yang beragam. Ketentraman dan kerukunan rakyat Indonesia terganggu dan pada akhirnya membuat rasa aman dan tenteram tercabut dari bumi Nusantara kita yang indah ini. Tidak percaya? Sudah banyak terjadi lho bagaimana media sosial dapat membuat keamanan dan ketentraman warga terganggu.
Budaya sensor mandiri pada film
Dalam hal film yang beredar di Indonesia, memang sudah ada Lembaga Sensor Film atau LSF yang melakukan sensor berdasarkan perintah UU No. 33 Tahun 2009. Meskipun begitu, kita harus tetap berpikir bijak sebelum menonton film. Ada beberapa klasifikasi film di Indonesia menurut undang-undang tersebut, yakni:
- SU / Semua Umur. Film dengan rating SU boleh ditonton oleh segala usia, mulai dari anak kecil hingga yang sudah bau tanah sekalipun. Tidak ada batasan apapun dalam film tersebut yang perlu dicatat. Salah satu yang masuk dalam kategori SU adalah film kartun, meskipun tidak semuanya.
- R / Remaja. Film dengan rating ini merupakan film remaja. Adegannya tidak baik ditonton oleh anak-anak. Sehingga anak-anak dibawah 13 tahun tidak diperbolehkan menonton, meskipun adegan yang ada termasuk “ringan”.
- RBO / Remaja – Bimbingan Orangtua. Film dengan rating ini dikhususkan untuk penonton berusia 17 tahun keatas. Orangtua diperingatkan bahwa ada adegan yang tidak pantas ditonton anak-anak yang dibawah 17 tahun.
- D / Dewasa. Film dengan rating ini khusus untuk penonton dengan usia diatas 21 tahun. Film seperti ini tidak disarankan ditonton oleh siapapun kecuali yang sudah dewasa. Adegan yang ada dalam film tersebut pada umumnya vulgar, eksplisit atau penuh dengan kekerasan.
Lembaga Sensor Film tidak hanya mengklasifikasikan film saja, namun juga memberitahukan kepada produser untuk memotong bagian-bagian tertentu dari film yang tidak sesuai dengan undang-undang. Jika sudah sesuai dengan arahan LSF, maka film bisa mendapatkan Surat Lulus Sensor dan bisa ditayangkan di bioskop. Meskipun begitu, ada pula film penuh kekerasan masih bisa tayang, meskipun dengan rating D.

Meskipun ada LSF, tetapi bukan berarti kita tidak menjalankan budaya sensor mandiri pada film yang beredar. Mengingat bahwa sebuah film bisa tetap saja diluluskan, dengan rating paling tinggi. Kita juga harus tahu apakah sebuah film itu baik untuk kita, anak atau ponakan kita dan sebagainya. Kenapa begitu? Ya karena petugas bioskop tidak peduli dengan rating, seringnya sih begitu.
Salah satu contohnya aku sendiri. Gara-gara tidak melihat dengan detail apa rating film Deadpool, aku harus kecewa karena disuguhi adegan kekerasan dan plot film yang tidak bermutu. Meskipun begitu, aku yang bodoh ini tidak sendirian. Banyak orang tua yang membawa anaknya nonton film Deadpool yang jelas-jelas ratingnya D. Padahal anak-anaknya masih berusia dibawah 10 tahun. Lega, setidaknya aku ga bodoh sendirian. Hehehe.
Budaya sensor mandiri pada tayangan televisi
Ngomongin masalah tayangan televisi, sebenarnya ada rating pada setiap tayangan. Kurang lebih rating yang ada mirip dengan film, kecuali D. Sepertinya tidak mungkin televisi menayangkan tayangan yang penuh adegan kekerasan mengingat televisi sifatnya terbuka dan untuk publik. Kecuali kalau redaktur televisi itu ingin dipecat, ya beda cerita. Hehehe.
Anak jalanan sekarang ganteng dan cakep, ya?
Namun kita harus ingat bahwa televisi (terutama televisi swasta) hanya mengejar rating saja. Sebagai pribadi, ada baiknya kita melakukan budaya sensor mandiri untuk acara televisi apa yang kita (dan keluarga) tonton. Aku sendiri sudah jarang nonton televisi. Kalaupun nonton sudah di kantor dengan televisi berbayar yang materinya cukup mendidik.
Ada baiknya menemani anak, adik, ponakan atau siapapun yang masih dibawah umur ketika nonton televisi. Beri mereka pengarahan yang baik mengenai adegan di televisi yang dirasa tidak pantas untuk mereka tonton. Jika memang diperlukan, ada baiknya anak-anak tidak menonton televisi pada saat jam utama/prime time. Yah, seperti yang kita tahu, jam ini dipenuhi dengan acara-acara yang tidak bermutu.
Anak-anak adalah harapan bangsa. Saat kita tua nanti, merekalah yang menjadi pemimpin kita. Jika mereka ini nantinya menjadi orang-orang produktif di kantor dan jalanan, bukan kriminal dan orang-orang yang berbuat kerusakan, maka masa tua kita akan menyenangkan. Mereka akan menjadi maslahat bagi bangsa ini.
Baiklah, rasanya cukup sekian mengenai budaya sensor mandiri. Pada intinya budaya sensor mandiri mengandalkan diri kita sendiri untuk berlaku bijak dalam menerima informasi apapun, darimanapun dan dapat menahan diri dalam membantu persebarannya.
