Paling tidak itulah moral cerita dari apa yang saya tonton di bioskop hari ini. Ya, saya menonton Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, prekuel kedua dari film The Planet of The Apes. Meskipun film tersebut lebih banyak bercerita tentang kera, namun saya melihatnya dengan cara yang berbeda, sehingga timbul kesimpulan bahwa film ini adalah sindiran bagi umat manusia secara umum.
Perbedaan perlakuan membuat perbedaan sudut pandang
Caesar, pemimpin para kera yang meloloskan diri dari laboratorium -dijelaskan dalam prekuel sebelumnya, Rise of The Planet of The Apes- memiliki kecerdasan dan kemampuan berbahasa manusia. Sebalumnya ia memang kera percobaan obat Alzheimer, namun ia dibesarkan dengan kasih sayang. Dari awal ia selalu melihat kebaikan dalam diri manusia, maka dari itulah ia “mencintai” manusia.
Di lain pihak, ada teman satu laboratorium Caesar yang bernama Koba. Ia adalah kera yang dibebaskan Caesar laboratorium juga saat pelarian besar-besaran. Tidak seperti Caesar yang mendapatkan kasih sayang dari manusia, Koba selalu mendapat perlakuan buruk dari manusia dalam eksperimen yang berbeda. Oleh karena itu pandangan Koba terhadap manusia tidak sama dengan Caesar. Inilah yang saya singgung di awal artikel, bagaimana sebuah pribadi dibesarkan, maka itu seperti itulah jadinya dia.

Percaya karena fakta, bukan keterkaitan ras
Dalam sebuah adegan digambarkan bahwa sebenarnya Koba telah berusaha melakukan “kudeta” terhadap Caesar dengan berani menantangnya. Setelah mengalahkan Koba, Caesar tetap memaafkannya dan membiarkannya tetap hidup dengan dasar hukum yang dibuatnya, yakni “kera tidak membunuh kera”. Ternyata keputusannya untuk memberikan contoh ini berdampak lebih besar di lain hari.
Caesar akhirnya mengakui kesalahannya, ia lebih mempercayai Koba karena ia kera. Ia menafikkan kenyataan bahwa Koba telah berusaha mengambil alih kekuasaan atas kaum kera dari dirinya. Ia memilih memaafkan Koba karena berpikir bahwa kera lebih baik dari manusia dan Koba bisa berubah. Akhirnya ia mengakui bahwa kera maupun manusia itu sama saja dan ia mempercayai kera yang salah. Tentu yang dimaksud Caesar adalah manusia atau kera memiliki sisi baik dan buruk, dimana salah satunya bisa sangat dominan.
Caesar memaafkan Koba meskipun berani menentangnya.
Dalam setiap kelompok, selalu ada penghasut
Baik Dreyfus ataupun Koba, mereka adalah penghasut di dalam kelompoknya masing-masing. Merekalah yang menghancurkan mimpi dari kelompok mereka dengan tindakan yang menurut mereka benar. Padahal tindakan itu justru memperparah keadaan yang sudah buruk. Meskipun pada akhirnya mereka menerima akibat dari perbuatannya, namun kerusakan yang ditimbulkan tidaklah sederhana.
Caesar yang bertujuan mendamaikan kera dan manusia justru dikhianati oleh Koba karena dendam kesumatnya pada umat manusia. Kesempatan untuk mendapatkan listrik dengan damai dari bendungan yang digagas oleh Malcolm menjadi hancur berantakan akibat ulah Dreyfus yang mengumpulkan senjata demi menyerang perkampungan kera. Disinilah titik dimana Koba mendapatkan pembenaran atas dendam dan tindakannya kemudian.
Sebenarnya masih banyak moral yang bisa diambil dari film ini. Film yang berdurasi 130 menit ini menyajikan banyak adegan yang menguras emosi, menyedihkan atau membuat terharu. Setahu saya tadi ada 3 orang cewek yang menangis yakni pacar saya sendiri, cewek di sebelahnya dan juga cewek yang duduk di belakang saya. Bagaimana dengan anda, sudah menonton film ini?
