Ternyata, keterikatan neurologis ini juga ditemukan pada pasangan, sehingga hubungan neurologis antara cowok dan payudara cewek mirip seperti bayi kepada payudara ibunya, untuk tujuan yang hampir sama.
Ketika menyusui, payudara mendapatkan rangsangan yang menyebabkan hormon oksitoksin membanjiri otak sang ibu. Hormon oksitoksin dikenal juga dengan sebutan “hormon cinta” akan membuat sang ibu lebih fokus dan perhatian kepada bayinya. Yang mengejutkan, rangsangan pada payudara wanita yang menyebabkan timbulnya oksitoksin tidak hanya bisa dilakukan oleh bayi saja. Sentuhan pada puting payudara oleh pasangan yang dicintai dapat menimbulkan efek yang sama. Rangsangan ini meningkatkan afeksi cewek, membuatnya makin mencintai pasangannya. Bonusnya tentu menguatkan rangsangan seksual seperti sentuhan pada area genital.
Jadi, cowok melakukannya untuk mendapatkan perhatian?
Ya, oksitosin yang dihasilkan hampir sama dengan ketika menyusui bayi ketika terjadi rangsangan seksual. Namun dalam konteks ini oksitosin akan membuat perhatian cewek pada pasangannya, menguatkan keinginan untuk membentuk ikatan emosional yang lebih kuat. Dengan kata lain, cowok menyukai payudara karena secara neurologis dapat menyebabkan dirinya lebih diinginkan, baik pada saat melakukan hubungan intim ataupun setelahnya. Hubungan emosional sangat dibutuhkan dalam menjalin rumah tangga, dimana seorang pria bersama wanita bisa saling berbagi dan saling mengisi.
