Manusia itu Bertumbuh, Selalu Mencari Kebenaran
Kalimat diatas adalah salah satu kalimat favorit yang saya sadur langsung dari kakek saya. Meskipun kalimat aslinya dalam bahasa Jawa, namun paling tidak seperti itulah kurang lebih artinya. Kalimat ini memiliki arti bahwa secara alamiah seharusnya manusia selalu penasaran dengan kebenaran dan selalu ingin bertindak benar.
Jalan kebenaran? Belok kanan ya.
Manusia secara alamiah memang merindukan kebenaran. Hal ini bisa kita buktikan secara sederhana yaitu seorang bos penjahat yang suka menipu pun mencari anak buah yang jujur dan tidak suka ditipu. Meskipun itu terlihat egois namun itu membuktikan sifat alamiah manusia yang sebenarnya ingin kebenaran.
Tidak mencari kebenaran, tanda matinya hati
Sehubungan dengan keinginan manusia untuk melakukan hal yang benar itulah, manusia selalu berproses dan bertumbuh. Manusia selalu mencari jalan kepada kebenaran. Manusia tidak berhenti belajar hingga bisa melakukan segala hal dengan benar. Kita bisa berkaca pada diri kita sendiri yang berproses, baik secara fisik, psikis dan spiritual, kita selalu mencari sebuah kebenaran.
Lihat bagaimana bayi belajar berjalan, anak-anak belajar bersepeda, orang dewasa belajar komputer dan orang tua yang belajar menjadi bijak. Semua berproses kepada sebuah kebenaran dalam tindakan dan pemikiran. Semua itu bersumber dari hati yang lalu menggerakkan pikiran untuk mencari tahu bagaimana caranya. Maka jika seseorang tidak lagi berproses menuju kebenaran, maka hatinya telah mati, tidak menggetarkan pikirannya untuk mencari kebenaran.
Bertindak benar diantara yang salah
Kakek saya dulu pernah berpesan bahwa bertindak benar di jaman ini akan sangat sulit karena dikepung tindakan yang tidak benar. Tindakan yang tidak benar akan lazim ditemui sehingga membuat tindakan yang benar menjadi luar biasa. Orang yang sebenarnya melakukan hal yang seharusnya dilakukan menjadi seorang pahlawan yang dipuja.
Ternyata ucapan kakek saya itu benar adanya. Berhenti di lampu merah saat perempatan sepi bisa menjadi aneh. Mengembalikan dompet yang jatuh kepada pemiliknya sudah menjadi luar biasa. Berpikir optimis justru dianggap sebagai pemimpi. Seorang pemimpin yang melakukan tugasnya justru dianggap luar biasa, sedangkan yang tidak melaksanakan tugasnya itu sudah biasa.
Dengan kebenaran yang terkepung diantara ketidakbenaran seperti ini, seharusnya membuat kita menjadi lebih tangguh. Kita tidak boleh menyerah untuk berbuat benar. Jika sekitar kita berbuat salah, apa kita harus mengikuti mereka hanya karena alasan “supaya kompak”? Tentu saja tidak begitu. Tentu kita semua tahu bahwa sebaik-baiknya manusia adalah mereka yang tidak berbuat kerusakan.
