Saat Ayam Jantan Menghargai Sang Betina
Kakek saya pernah bilang bahwa kita perlu melihat alam karena disanalah Allah memberikan pelajaran-Nya, selain kitab suci. Termasuk saat saya dan kawan-kawan mengamati dua ayam, satu jantan dan satu betina.

Ada apa dengan dua ayam itu?
Pada hari minggu yang cerah kemarin, saya dan hampir semua anak-anak didaulat bapak kost untuk kerja bakti membersihkan sisa abu gunung Kelud yang tidak terbawa hujan. Satu hal yang kami kira ringan, ternyata tidak sama sekali. Abu yang terkumpul hampir satu mobil pick-up. Untung saja bapak kost punya pekarangan di belakang yang bisa digunakan sebagai tempat pembuangan abu tersebut.
Setelah kerja bakti selesai, bapak kost tidak tinggal diam. Sebagai hadiah, tentu saja diberikan makanan untuk sarapan. Nah, saat makan itulah datang dua ekor ayam. Ayam utuh lho, bukan ekornya saja. Ayam jantan dan betina itu memang dua diantara puluhan ayam milik bapak kost. Tak ada yang mengacuhkan kedua ayam tersebut sampai salah satu diantara kami membuang sedikit nasi dengan harapan menjadi makanan ayam tersebut.
Nasi tersebut jatuh tepat di hadapan ayam jantan, sedangkan sang betina sekitar 10 meter jauhnya. Sambil mematuk sedikit, si ayam jantan ini terus bersuara. Kami kira memang ayamnya rese’, udah dikasi makan, pilih-pilih pula. Eh, ternyata si jantan ini memanggil sang betina. Ketika si betina akhirnya tahu dan mendatangi sang jantan, keduanya menyantap nasi tersebut sampai habis.
Kebetulan? Ternyata TIDAK!
Cara ini diulang empat kali dengan menunggu kedua ayam ini terpisah satu sama lain. Tiga kali nasi diberikan kepada ayam jantan dan kejadian terus berulang. Dan satu kali saat nasi diberikan kepada ayam betina, ternyata sang jantan hanya mengambil sedikit lantas pergi mematuk-matuk di tempat lain. Ia membiarkan si betina memakan nasi itu sampai habis. Luar biasa, bukan?
Hikmah apa yang terkandung di dalamnya?
Sungguh Maha Besar Allah dengan segala yang diciptakan-Nya. Hewan yang sering kita anggap rendah, dapat membawa pelajaran bagi ke-12 orang yang mengamatinya. Agak aneh memang jika melihat reaksi semua orang saat itu. Mereka yang mengamati bukanlah orang yang berpendidikan rendah, namun dibuat takjub dengan tingkah laku kedua ayam itu.
Pria sendiri sebenarnya juga memiliki dorongan itu di dalam dirinya. Seorang pria yang mencintai seorang wanita begitu rela berkorban. Bahkan pengorbanannya bisa mencapai taraf yang konyol jika dilihat oleh orang lain. Hal yang sama ada di dalam seekor ayam jantan. Ini adalah bukti nyata bahwa sifat mengasihi ditanamkan Allah kepada semua makhluk-Nya.
Kami baru menyadari bahwa dalam dunia hewan pun ada norma atau aturan yang dijalankan. Ada code of conduct yang dimiliki oleh ayam jantan untuk mengutamakan ayam betina. Sikap kepantasan ini sebenarnya juga ada dalam diri manusia. Contoh yang sederhana adalah memberikan tempat duduk saat melihat ada wanita yang berdiri di kendaraan umum.
Jadi, saat ada pria yang tidak mau mengalah kepada wanita, kita tinggal bilang saja seperti ini: “apa kamu tidak malu dengan ayam?”. Bagaimana menurut pendapat anda?
