All About IndiHome – Mereka Mendengar

Artikel ini adalah artikel ketiga yang saya tulis dalam trilogi All About IndiHome. Artikel ketiga ini membahas tentang keluhan saya selama memakai IndiHome di kantor.

Pertangahan Maret 2015 lalu, kantor saya, Jogja Web Center memasang IndiHome. Maksudnya adalah untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan dalam bekerja. Bagaimanapun jualan hosting, domain dan pembuatan web tentu saja berkaitan dengan internet. Semakin kencang dan semakin lancar internetnya, tentu pekerjaan menjadi semakin ringan.

No Data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

Dulu kami menggunakan Speedy -yang katanya- 3 Mbps, namun memiliki upload yang sangat minim, 300 kbps (37,5 kBps). Tentu saja menjadi sulit saat kami harus bertukar data dengan client atau mengupload hasil pekerjaan kami ke server hosting. Untuk itulah kami memasang IndiHome supaya lebih lancar, mengingat jaringan yang digunakan adalah Fiber Optic.

Dan itu memang benar, terbukti semuanya lancar dan menyenangkan. Kecepatan upload yang kami dapat sekitar 2,5 Mbps dan download benar-benar 10 Mbps. Ini jauh melebihi harapan kami yang hanya 1 Mbps untuk upload. Disini kami merasa bersyukur bahwa ternyata Telkom dan IndiHome tidak berbohong. Kami mendapatkan sesuai dengan apa yang dijanjikan.

Itu sebelum negara api menyerang. Awal April, sekitar tanggal 9, mulailah muncul masalah. Saat kami mengakses sebuah situs, sering muncul pesan kesalahan dari browser Chrome. “No Data. ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE”, begitu pesannya. Kami pikir ini adalah bug pada Chrome, lalu dicoba menggunakan Firefox dan memunculkan pesan yang berbeda “Connection Reset”. Intinya sama, tidak bisa diakses.

Lalu sangkaan kami tujukan kepada Mikrotik yang berperan sebagai gateway, apakah mungkin ada rule-rule firewall yang bermasalah. Ternyata saat kami disable semua rule firewall, masalah tersebut tetap muncul. Saat kami terkoneksi langsung ke ONT (modem optic IndiHome) via WiFi, ternyata masalahnya masih ada juga. Mikrotik bebas dari dakwaan, begitu pula ONT.

Belakangan kami ketahui tidak hanya kami yang mengalami hal tersebut, namun banyak teman kami yang menggunakan baik Speedy maupun IndiHome mengalami hal yang serupa. Yang membuat kami bingung adalah tidak adanya pola website seperti apa yang tidak bisa diakses, semuanya acak. Kerap kali website yang tadinya dapat diakses, tiba-tiba menjadi “No Data” saat masuk ke salah satu link-nya. Bahkan website sekelas Detik.com dan Kompas.com pun pernah tidak bisa diakses.

Pada acara #WeLoveIndiHome yang diadakan Telkom di cafe Tickles (18/05) kemarin, ini adalah protes saya yang pertama. Anda pasti bertanya-tanya, apa jawaban petinggi Telkom tentang ini? Kesimpulan dari pembicaraan yang begitu panjang adalah yang pertama bahwa mereka kurang percaya bahwa problem ini ada dan masif. Kedua, protes saya “akan menjadi masukan bagi teknisi” untuk perbaikan ke depan.

Oke. Fine. Setidaknya mereka sudah mendengar. Sejauh saat artikel ini ditulis, jumlah kejadian web yang sulit diakses dengan error No Data sudah berkurang banyak, meskipun masalahnya belum terselesaikan secara penuh. Mungkin sedang dalam proses dan saya bisa memaklumi, meskipun jika saya jadi bos dan teknisi saya bekerja begitu lamban, pasti sudah saya pecat. Hahaha.

Permasalahan Ad-Insertion

Ini adalah permasalahan kedua yang saya utarakan -atau lebih tepatnya protes- kepada para petinggi Telkom yang hadir dalam acara #WeLoveIndiHome (18/05) di Tickles Cafe. Ad-Insertion ini menimbulkan masalah diantaranya:

  • Sering masuk ke dalam halaman web yang dipanggil menggunakan jQuery. Hal ini membuat halaman tersebut tidak bisa tampil. Beberapa aplikasi kami salah satunya adalah domain manager harus diakses dengan VPN jika ingin bekerja normal.
  • Bagi blogger yang menggantungkan hidupnya pada iklan, mereka berkata bahwa iklan adsens atau lainnya pernah tergantikan oleh iklan dari Telkom.

Saya sebenarnya adalah korban dari permasalahan pertama, namun berhubung saya adalah blogger, saya juga ikut menyuarakan permasalahan kedua. Berikut adalah jawaban dari petinggi Telkom tentang hal ini:

  • Telkom akan terus meningkatkan kompatibilitas ad-insertion dengan semua bentuk web application. Untuk itu dibutuhkan input dari pelanggan. Oke, mungkin kita perlu menyerbu Telkom Care di Twitter dan Facebook untuk masalah ini.
  • Telkom adalah pemilik jaringan, mereka berhak melakukan ad-insertion. Untuk yang ini saya no-comment dulu karena belum menemukan penyangkalan yang lebih kuat daripada “pelanggan sudah bayar, tidak gratis.”
  • Pelanggan dapat meminta ad-insertion pada akun IndiHome-nya dimatikan. Pelanggan hanya cukup menghubungi 147 dan pasti dikabulkan. Saya belum mencoba yang ini karena lupa. Mungkin beberapa saat nanti akan saya coba.

Untuk masalah ini saya belum punya kesimpulan apapun. Bagi saya ad-insertion ini tidak urgent. Meskipun sebenarnya saya mencurigai bahwa secara teknis ada keterkatian antara masalah No Data dengan Ad-Insertion ini. Sekali lagi, itu hanya dugaan tak berdasar, dimana hanya Allah dan teknisi Telkom yang tahu. Mari kita berdo’a saja semoga Allah memberikan hidayah kepada para teknisi tersebut.
