All About IndiHome – Ada Jawaban Itu Menenangkan
Ternyata tulisan saya sebelumnya terlalu panjang untuk menjadi satu artikel. Maka saya split saja jadi beberapa artikel. Tentu saja masih berkaitan dengan IndiHome dari Telkom.

Setelah pertanyaan pertama terjawab, setidaknya itu jawaban versi saya. Tentu saja saya punya pertanyaan-pertanyaan lainnya. Pertanyaan kedua dan ketiga saya bahas disini.
Pertanyaan #2: Apakah Telkom kehilangan arah pengembangan jaringan?
Tentu ini sebuah pertanyaan yang salah besar. Saya yang tidak terlalu pintar saja tahu bahwa internet di Korea Selatan, Jepang, Amerika Serikat yang konon katanya cepat-cepat itu menggunakan Fiber Optic (FO), bukan 4G LTE atau teknologi lainnya. Bahkan raksasa internet macam Google pun menggelar teknologi FO yang mereka sebut Dark Fiber dengan brand Google Fiber.
Jadi sudah jelas jika Telkom tidaklah kehilangan arah dalam hal ini. Arah Telkom sudah benar dengan mengembangkan FO sebagai basis dari teknologi yang mereka tawarkan kepada pelanggan. Teknologi ini memiliki kapasitas yang besar dalam hal transfer data, memiliki latency yang rendah dan kemungkinan gangguan yang lebih kecil. Paling tidak itulah yang saya rasakan semenjak menggunakan IndiHome. Meskipun ada keluhan -yang akan saya jelaskan di posting berikutnya- tetapi bukan lemot dan putus-putus.
Pertanyaan #3: Telkom tidak tampak di sosial media?
Dalam dalam sebuah X-Banner yang dipasang di pertemuan ini, ada slogan “We Hear You”. Tanpa perlu dijelaskan pun saya tahu bahwa sebenarnya Telkom ingin mendengar kita sebagai pelanggannya. Dan itu sudah mencoba diwujudkan Telkom lewat tim sosial media mereka dengan dibentuknya Telkom Care di Facebook atau Twitter. Katanya Telkom Care itu sudah ada kurang lebih 3 bulan, tetapi dulu waktu saya nyari-nyari kok ga ketemu, ya?
Ternyata ada sebabnya Telkom tidak langsung “berkampanye” di sosial media, meskipun sudah ada Telkom Promo (@TelkomPromo). Tanpa kampanye saja, permintaan pasang baru yang diterima sudah cukup besar, sedangkan teknisinya sangat terbatas. Diperkirakan ada 5000 lebih sambungan baru yang diselesaikan Telkom tiap hari di seluruh Indonesia (atau pulau Jawa?). Saya mahfum jika kampanye di sosial media justru akan menambah permintaan pelanggan dan lebih merepotkan lagi.
Pasti ada yang bertanya, lho kenapa teknisinya ga ditambah? Menurut pak Edi Kurniawan (yang jabatannya panjang seperti kereta api barang – fotonya ada diatas), hal tersebut sudah dilakukan. Mendidik orang untuk menyambung kabel FO tidak semudah mendidik orang menyambung kabel tembaga/copper. Saya mengetahuinya sendiri, saat memasang IndiHome di kantor, teknisi dari Telkom harus mengulang sampai 3 kali supaya sambungannya benar-benar sempurna.
Tentu saja skill semacam ini tidak bisa didapat dengan instan. Butuh waktu untuk mendidik orang melakukan hal yang sangat presisi seperti menyambung serat optik atau FO ini. Maka wajar jika Telkom memang kekurangan teknisi. Tetapi setidaknya ada usaha untuk melakukan penambahan dengan perekrutan dan pendidikan teknisi baru. Paling tidak sekarang ada Telkom Care yang bisa menampung keluhan pelanggan. Sehingga orang-orang seperti saya ini tidak menggerutu sendiri, tanpa tahu mau ngomong sama siapa.
