All About IndiHome – Tak Kenal Maka Tak Sayang
Semalam (18/05), saya menghadiri acara Blogger MeetUp dengan Telkom dan IndiHome. Kebetulan sekali, saya adalah pengguna IndiHome, meskipun bukan pelanggan. Itu sudah pasti, kantor saya yang berlangganan IndiHome.

Acara ini saya ketahui dari rekan-rekan Komunitas Blogger Jogja, diadakan di Tickles Cafe, Demangan Baru. Saya memang berniat datang untuk menyampaikan beberapa keluhan tentang IndiHome yang selama ini selalu saya alami di kantor.
Setelah tersesat sampai ke jalan Kenari di dekat Lempuyangan -gegara tak percaya Google Maps- akhirnya sampai juga ke Tickles Cafe yang ternyata jalan Kenari dekat kampus Sanata Dharma. Di dalam sudah berkumpul teman-teman dari Komunitas Blogger Jogja dan Komunitas Emak Blogger (cabang Jogja?). Seperti dugaan saya, acara dimulai pukul 19.00 WIB.
Dalam acara ini akhirnya terjawab sudah beberapa pertanyaan tentang IndiHome. Paling tidak beberapa pertanyaan yang termaktub dalam sebuah artikel di blog Strategi Manajemen diklarifikasi secara tidak langsung oleh bapak-bapak dari Telkom. Salah satunya adalah manajer senior Telkom yang rata-rata diatas 45 tahun, tetapi yang saya lihat kemarin bapak-bapak dan ibu manajer yang datang masih berusia cukup muda.
Pertanyaan #1: Apa sebab Telkom menghilangkan brand Speedy?
Pertanyaan serupa pernah muncul di benak saya saat di tahun 2000-an awal (2002/2004, lupa), Telkom memutuskan menghentikan brand TelkomNet dan menggantinya menjadi Speedy. Lalu tahun 2015, Telkom “membunuh” Speedy dan menggantinya menjadi IndiHome.
Setelah mendengar penjelasan tentang sistem IndiHome, saya menjadi memaklumi kenapa Telkom menghentikan brand TelkomNet, menggantinya dengan Speedy, lalu menggantinya lagi dengan IndiHome. Ketiganya memiliki sistem yang sangat berbeda. TelkomNet, menggunakan teknologi DialUp yang sangat biasa di jaman itu. Diganti Speedy karena menggunakan teknologi yang jauh berbeda, yakni ADSL dengan sistem MSAN (hybrid fiber optic dan copper).
IndiHome muncul menggantikan Speedy karena tidak hanya berbeda pada sisi teknologi saja, namun juga berbeda pada produk yang ditawarkan. Jika Speedy hanya menawarkan koneksi internet saja, tidak demikian dengan IndiHome. Di dalam IndiHome ada IPTV dan Telepon Rumah, semua dalam satu paket. Bagi saya yang awam dan tidak terlalu pintar, alasan ini sudah masuk akal meskipun bagi orang yang -katanya- ahli manajemen tidak.

Lagipula tak ada yang peduli apakah koneksi internetnya bernama Speedy, IndiHome atau IndiCar sekalian. Asalkan koneksi kencang dan tidak putus, para pelanggan tidak akan komplain. Jadi tidak perlu dipikirkan apakah Speedy mau jadi IndiHome atau apapun itu, jelas bukan urusan saya. Apalagi kalau Speedy sekarang jualan thinner cat pun saya juga tidak peduli (lihat tweet saya diatas).
