Masa remaja memang masa yang indah, meskipun banyak masalah di kiri dan kanan. Namun itu adalah suatu proses yang harus dinikmati.
Cewek remaja yang bingung belajar karena terlalu banyak hal.
Apakah kamu ingat waktu remaja, ketika orang tua kamu menyuruh kamu untuk mencuci piring, membuang sampah, mandi dan memberi makan ikan ayahmu, namun ada yang tidak kamu kerjakan? Mungkin saja kamu masih ingat bagaimana marahnya ayahmu ketika ikan lohan kesayangannya mengambang di akuarium.
Jika kamu terlalu tua untuk mengingat apa yang terjadi di masa remaja, coba ingat ketika kamu di kafe kecil yang pelayannya masih remaja kebingungan mencari siapa yang memesan makanan dan minuman yang ia bawa. Pada umumnya mereka melayani beberapa meja sekaligus, sehingga termasuk dalam kategori multi-tasking.
Sekali lagi kita kembali kepada fakta bahwa masa remaja adalah masa yang canggung bagi otak kita. Termasuk dalam hal bagian yang mengatur tentang multi-tasking. Penelitian terbaru menunjukkan bahwa otak remaja belum memiliki bagian yang memproses multi-tasking. Ketika terjadi banjir informasi di otak, frontal cortex adalah bagian yang mencoba mencari cara untuk mengurai dan memilah-milah informasi tersebut.
Kemampuan remaja mengingat banyak informasi berkembang pada usia 13-15 tahun, namun kemampuan berpikir strategis dan terorganisir yang merupakan ketrampilan tingkat tinggi dalam multi-tasking terus berkembang hingga usia 16-17 tahun. Yang menjadi masalah adalah bahwa bagian tersebut belum selesai berkembang jika anda belum cukup umur untuk mengemudi mobil dan menonton film dengan rating dewasa.

Sesuai dengan kutipan diatas, ini bukan berarti remaja memiliki masalah dalam mengingat semua informasi tersebut. Daya ingat kamu akan baik-baik saja hingga kamu kuliah nanti. Hanya saja yang masih belum berkembang adalah “cara berpikir strategis dan teorganisir”, dimana itu adalah kemampuan untuk mengukur prioritas dari suatu hal diatas hal yang lainnya.
