Muslim adalah rahmat bagi alam semesta. Alam semesta berarti bumi dan seluruh isi-isinya. Termasuk di dalamnya orang-orang kafir, fasik, munafik dan orang yang tersesat dari jalan Allah. Sangat tidak pantas bagi seorang muslim bertindak kasar kepada orang yang menyimpang dari jalan Allah.
“Maka disebabkan rahmat dari Allah-lah kamu berlaku lemah lembut terhadap mereka, sekiranya kamu bersikap keras lagi berhati kasar tentulah mereka akan menjauhkan diri dari sekelilingmu. Karena itu maafkanlah mereka, mohonkanlah ampun bagi mereka dan bermusyawaratlah dengan mereka (dalam urusan itu). Kemudian apabila kamu telah membulatkan tekad, maka bertawakkallah kepada Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah menyukai orang-orang yang bertawakkal pada-Nya.

Seorang muslim harusnya merangkul supaya kembali ke jalan yang benar, dengan kasih sayang karena Allah. Mangingatkan itu wajib, tapi tidak dengan memaksa. Hanya Allah yang Maha Memberi Petunjuk.
Belajar dari kisah nabi Musa dan Harun
Mungkin kita perlu berkaca, apakah kita sudah lebih baik daripada nabi Allah Musa dan Harun? Padahal Allah pernah memberi perintah kepada beliau-beliau bagaimana cara menghadapi Fir’aun, yang mana kejahatannya terhadap Allah sudah sangat besar, yakni mengaku tuhan. Kita simak firman Allah berikut:
“Pergilah kamu berdua (Musa dan Harun) kepada Fir’aun, sesungguhnya dia telah melampaui batas. Maka Berbicaralah kamu berdua kepadanya dengan kata-kata yang lemah lembut, mudah-mudahan ia ingat atau takut.
Q.S. Thaahaa: 43-45
Musa dan Harun adalah nabi Allah yang suci, salah satu manusia terbaik di dunia. Di lain pihak, Fir’aun adalah salah satu manusia yang terburuk di mata Allah. Tetapi Allah tetap memerintahkan nabi Musa dan Harun untuk berlaku lemah lembut mengingatkannya.
Pertanyaannya adalah, apakah kita sudah merasa lebih mulia daripada nabi Musa dan Harun? Lalu apakah orang yang kita ingatkan itu lebih rendah daripada Fir’aun? Mari kita renungkan bersama sebelum menghardik dengan keras bahkan menganiaya orang-orang yang kita anggap melenceng dari jalan Allah.
Menyerahkan semua kepada Allah
Salah satu hasutan Iblis yang paling efektif karena masih berlaku saat ini adalah mengalihkan perhatian umat Islam dari Allah kepada pikirannya sendiri. Ajaran Islam yang benar harusnya sesuai dengan sifat-sifat Allah. Memaafkan, pengasih dan penyayang dan sifat-sifat Allah lainnya harus menjadi landasan dalam ber-Islam.
Memang kita tidak menafikkan bahwa jalan kekerasan itu diijinkan dalam Islam. Rasulullah diutus berperang melawan orang-orang kafir dan fasik. Namun itu adalah jalan terakhir jika memang tidak ada jalan lainnya lagi. Jika kita melihat sejarah, Rasulullah lebih memilih perundingan damai daripada perang. Ingat perjanjian Hudaibiyah?
“…demikian Kami jadikan setiap umat menganggap baik pekerjaan mereka, lalu Dia memberitakan kepada mereka apa yang dahulu mereka kerjakan.”

Sesuai dengan ayat diatas, bagaimana kalo sikap keras kita nanti ternyata salah di mata Allah? Bukankah kita bisa menjadi orang yang merugi di akhirat. Maka dari itu lebih baik kita bersabar, lembut dan pengasih. Saya yakin Allah menyukai hamba-Nya yang demikian ini. Dengan menjadi sabar dan pengasih, kita terhindar dari perbuatan melampaui batas.
