Beberapa waktu lalu saya pernah membahas tentang cara menghindari serangan agen MLM dan cara mematahkan argumen agen MLM. Dari situ mungkin ada yang menilai bahwa saya adalah mantan agen MLM yang gagal. Tentu saja tidak benar, justru saya juga pernah sukses di MLM.

Bisnis MLM memang bisnis yang menggiurkan bagi saya di tahun 2008. Pada saat itu saya memilih mengikuti MLM “hijau” yang belum dikenal di kota saya. Prestasi terakhir yang saya raih adalah bintang lima (*5). Alhamdulillah, pencerahan dari Allah pada akhirnya membuka mata saya bahwa saya telah menjalankan bisnis yang tidak adil.
Awal mula menekuni bisnis MLM
Sebenarnya saya sudah mengenal MLM sejak masih di sekolah menengah. Dari awal saya memang tidak terlalu bertekad menjadi kaya dengan MLM. Saya hanya mencoba-coba dan tidak berhasil. Dari pengalaman mengikuti seminar-seminar beberapa MLM itulah saya pada tahun 2008 mencoba mengikuti salah satu MLM yang berwarna khas hijau.
Di MLM ini saya lebih berhasil dikarenakan ada produknya yang kebetulan sekali cocok berada di kalangan saya. Saya berhasil membuat banyak orang bergabung tanpa saya iming-imingi mobil mewah, yacht atau liburan ke luar negeri. Semua bergabung karena menginginkan harga yang lebih murah dari salah satu produk. Semua berjalan lancar selama 6 bulan hingga awal tahun 2009 dengan bonus bulanan dalam hitungan juta rupiah.
Penyebab utama saya meninggalkan bisnis MLM
Seringnya saya berhubungan dengan downline justru menjadi titik balik dari “nafsu” saya di bisnis MLM. Ada beberapa downline yang menggunakan “kesuksesan” saya untuk memotivasi member baru. Saya melihat sendiri bahwa mereka sudah melakukan segalanya untuk “sukses” di bisnis ini. Sementara mereka berusaha keras, saya semakin santai dan terus menikmati bonus setiap bulannya.
Dari sinilah hati saya “terguncang”, saya merasa bahwa saya tertawa diatas penderitaan orang lain. Yang lebih mengagetkan lagi adalah saat datang ke sebuah seminar yang diselenggarakan oleh grup MLM tempat saya bernaung. Disini mereka memberikan banyak janji-janji bahwa mereka semua akan kaya jika bergabung dengan MLM ini. Janji seperti liburan ke luar negeri, rumah, mobil mewah, yacht dan sebagainya ditebar untuk menjerat member baru.
Penyebab lain saya meninggalkan bisnis MLM
Penyebab lain yang membuat saya meninggalkan bisnis MLM adalah karena kalkulasi matematika dan syariat muamalah. Kalkulasi matematika ini di kemudian hari justru saya gunakan untuk “membunuh” agen MLM. Hal ini sudah saya bahas dalam artikel melepaskan diri dari jeratan agen MLM bagian kedua. Setidaknya hingga saat ini belum ada agen MLM yang datang lagi kepada saya dengan membawa perhitungan matematis yang membuktikan bahwa MLM itu fair. Selain itu, secara ekonomi juga ada beberapa kerugian dari MLM yang seharusnya bisa dihindari.
Sedangkan untuk masalah muamalah, memang masih menjadi perdebatan. Tidak hanya ada makanan halal dan produk halal saja lho, MLM juga ada. DSN MUI memang menyatakan ada MLM halal dan haram. Bukannya saya tidak percaya MUI, namun argumen yang menyatakan bahwa MLM haram mutlak juga tidak kalah memuaskan dan masuk akal. Dengan pengalaman saya melihat downline yang gagal membuat saya merasa telah mendzalimi orang lain. Oleh karena itulah saya pribadi bersepakat bahwa MLM itu syubhat (samar atau meragukan). Dan bagi saya, syubhat itu lebih baik dihindari.

Saya pernah tergoda rayuan agen MLM. Teman saya sendiri sih… tapi karena hanya ikut2an, jadi saya gak pernah berusaha cari downline. Akhirnya keluar deh… 😀

Kalau aku pribadi entah kenapa dari awal mula rame MLM jaman2 sekolah sudah ‘sinis’ dengan yg namanya MLM. Gak suka aja ama sistem yang mendapat penghasilan lebih dari menggaet member dan harga produknya yang kebanyakan lebih tinggi dari harga produk lainnya.
Kalau liat Orang MLM di FB suka lucu / kasihan juga karena rata2 statusnya itu motivasi atau sebagainya tapi ujung2nya ada ajakan gabung, padahal sering yang dijadikan contoh motivasinya itu orang lain bukan si orang MLM itu.
Next time, ditingkatkan lagi mas, cari alasan tidak sukanya itu. Jadi biar lebih mantap gitu. 🙂
